HOW TO USE YOUR FOOD SCALE & MY BIGGEST TIPS FOR HITTING YOUR NUTRITION GOALS.

What's up Gnarly Gang!!! I know many of us have recently started tracking their protein/macros for the very first time, and I know how intimdating it can be, so I wanted to share some tips to help you along this journey, as well as a video demonstrating how to properly use your food scale! 1. Starting with the most important tool for success is PLANNING. Planning out your meals for the day or the week ahead is SO important, so you are getting decision fatigued, being food focused, and having to plug and play at the end of your day. This is hands down my biggest tip, I can stress it enough. Before you go scrolling on your phone at night PLAN and pack your meals for the day. I personally will eat the same meals for days or even a week at a time to keep this as easy as possible.

2. Building on the same concept as point 1, sit down in the beginning of the week and plan all your meals/recipes and your grocery list.

3. Be consistent. You've heard it before, and im going to say it again. Consistency IS KEY. Be consistent with how you track, with the foods you eat, and with tracking daily. If you only give 75%, well then expect 75% results. It doesn't matter if you weigh your food cooked or raw, but you should be weighting them the same WAY each time.

4. If using my fitness pal - try to pick verified food. These are the foods with the green check marks, becasue often times people can create food with the wrong macros. It's always best to double check the macros on these apps. There is also an option in this app to track raw food verse cooked food, for example if consuming cooked white rice simple search "cooked white rice" and use that!

5. Give yourself grace. Learning to weight and track your food is a SKILL and takes time to learn!! I have been doing this 5+ years and still learning new things. Tracking macros is the best way to become more aware of what you're consuming, dial in your diet, and get to your goals faster! The end goal is that you can eventually eat intuitivly :)

Here's a video showing you exactly how to use your scale and how to enter it into your tracking app:
